I'm doing my best to get caught up on the blog.
Last weekend, we met Mara's friend Blake and his parents at Green Acres Farm in Cary. It was a pumpkin patch, corn maze, mini fair almost. We stayed for 2 hours and Mara enjoyed every minute!
First, we selected a Mommy pumpkin and a Mara pumpkin.
It was a sunny day, so forgive all the shadows!
Mara was SUPER excited about seeing some cows and went running over to view them closer. She then stood there screaming "MOOOOOOOOOO!!! MOOOOO!!!!!" One cow in particular just stared at her.
She wasn't afraid of feeding the goats. Daddy sacrificed his golf marking quarter so she could do this. Thanks, Daddy!
There were tunnels to crawl through under the giant hay bales. (Yes, she did go through!)
There was a giant corn maze, which Zack did, and this smaller hay bale maze, which she mastered.
There were 3 bouncy houses, although only 1 was for ages 4 and under. I was surprised that she wasn't afraid of it and the only trouble she had was when bigger kids were bouncing near her.
I think she liked it so much because it had a slide on the inside. She must have gone down it 10 times.
Then there was a giant sand pile with a large selection of toys. You can see Blake here in the plaid shirt... and yes, they both clocked each other with some sort of tool. Only a few tears were shed before she was focused on something else.
We had to wait in line for the tractor/hay-ride, but both children were super excited to board.
Once they were in the trailer, Blake hardly moved, but Mara stood up and peered out the sides.
We asked if they wanted to hold hands. Say it with me... AWWW.

She especially loved driving.
Look how focused she is... on keeping her tractor perfectly still.
She eventually pushed Blake off the seat... but we won't talk about that.
All in all, it was a wonderful adventure!
